Privacy Policy - DPDC Balance Checker
Last updated: July 2026
DPDC Balance Checker fetches your meter balance from the DPDC API and syncs your balance history to the cloud so it’s available if you reinstall the app or check the same account from another device.
What we store, and where:
- Your customer number, customer name, and balance history are stored both locally on your device and in a cloud database (Google Firestore, part of Google Firebase), keyed to your customer number.
- We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any identity information beyond your DPDC customer number.
Push notifications:
- The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to deliver service alerts (e.g. DPDC outage notices). This requires a device notification token to be registered with Google’s servers. Notifications are broadcast to all app users and are not targeted using any personal data.
Third parties:
- Balance data and notifications are processed via Google Firebase (Firestore + Cloud Messaging), acting as our service provider. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else, and we do not use analytics or ad-tracking SDKs.
Access model — please read:
- Because the app has no login system, your cloud-stored history is protected only by your customer number, not by a password or account. Anyone who has (or guesses) your DPDC customer number could technically look up that account’s synced balance history.
Data retention:
- Uninstalling the app deletes all data stored on your device. Cloud-stored history is not automatically deleted when you uninstall — it remains associated with your customer number until you request deletion.
- To request deletion of your cloud data, contact us at the address below with your customer number.
